our_gift_to_you
Your body and its state of physical fitness are your most important assets. You should always remember that it is always easier to keep healthy, then to regain your health. Of course, it can also be cheaper to stay healthy then to get treated medically. Thus, it is imperative for everyone to take steps to keep their bodies physically fit and in shape. However, fitness is a diverse concept. In order to be considered as fit, you have to reduce your weight to its normal levels, you have to increase your cardiovascular endurance, you have to increase your strength and you have to undergo resistance training. However, all of this can be very difficult to do, especially if you don’t know how to proceed.

In the beginning, many people try to achieve fitness on their own with the information that they learn from the media and the Internet. But, mostly this can be a futile effort as achieving fitness requires effort, motivation and finesse in order for you to succeed. You can’t hope to combine the proper exercises in their proper intensity levels. Thus, you would need something like a personal fitness instructor to help you along the way. Of course, hiring a personal fitness instructor can be an expensive method, since you would have to pay at least $100 to $150 per hour to keep a fitness instructor. You can easily see that the bills can pile up very quickly.

However, you don’t need to worry as you have another viable alternative. This viable alternative is to go enroll in a fitness boot camp. Fitness Boot Camps Canada is a special fitness camp with several fitness instructors who channel your efforts to create the best possible fitness for yourself. In a boot camp, you will be able to have many benefits for attaining fitness such as:

1. Working in a group environment to attain fitness

2. Getting help from your fitness instructors on difficult fitness techniques

3. Getting motivated from your group members and from your instructors

4. Being able to do group fitness activities

5. Your meals are kept under control in a fitness boot camp

6. Your sleep and your rest periods are also regulated for best results

7. Your fitness achievements (such as your weight, your cardiovascular endurance, your resistance strength etc) are continuously measured in order to track your progress.

8. Whenever you don’t feel up to it, a fitness boot camp can make sure that you continue your fitness program without giving up

9. A fitness boot camp can be much more cheaper than hiring a personal fitness instructor, as you can continue with only $100 to $350 per month on most fitness boot camps

10. You can make sure that you always have the help you need in a group setting.

So, as you can see, Fitness Boot Camps Canada can be the perfect solution for your weight loss as well as your fitness needs. So, then you may ask yourself on how to find the best fitness boot camp for yourself. Well, the best way is to make sure that you look on the Internet to find the best fitness boot camps in your area. Then you can easily talk to them and examine the various programs that they offer. Or another way on how to find the best fitness boot camp can be to ask around to your friends and neighbors on the fitness camps that they may have used.

Make sure that you go and visit the relevant fitness boot camp before you enroll. You have to be certain that their program and their instructors are compatible with your needs. However, don’t make the mistake of going to a fitness boot camp that doesn’t really force you to attain your best. You will need some gentle pushing and encouragement in order to make sure that you get your level of fitness that you desire. Don’t forget that achieving fitness and weight loss requires patience and diligence for you to be successful and this can be best achieved in a fitness boot camp.

The Swine Flue in Calgary -What you should know!

One Flu Over Calgary…. Hey, Was That A flying Pig?
flying-pig-on-white.gif

So, do you think you have to be crazy to be concerned about the Swine Flu? A Calgary flu epidemic is just as likely as anywhere else and your health is what is at risk.

I’m not suggesting you have to go “crazy fanatical” about protecting yourself. The common sense things like – keeping your hands off your face, washing frequently (your hands), keeping a safe distance (6 ft.) away from sick people, and not sharing licks off your three year old’s Tootsie Pop – are more than adequate to give you a good chance of not getting the flu. Keeping those ugly viruses out of your body is what you trying to do.

D-E-T-E-R-M-I-N-A-T-I-O-N!!!
Just like I coach all my clients in Boot Camp who want to lose weight and tone up , you have to show up not only to boot camp but in life as well.
You have to:
Is get into action, proceed, determination helps get you through the next phase, through the steps of learning, growing, and building, one step at a time and one process at a time. There is a strong place deep within you that you tap into when you are exhausted, stumped, or at a dead end. It is from this strong place that determination is born. It says, 'I will not be defeated. I will get this task done.' It is here that you press on, that you make a decision not to quit.

It is because you have decided that what you are trying to achieve is important, and worthy for you to complete. You have felt in your heart that the outcome will be very good, or even great. All dreams require determination to make a reality. Anyone who accomplished something in this life had great determination to do so.

Want thin toned thighs!! Go to Boot Camp!

As a trainer and Boot Camp operator for the last 5 years one thing all my female clients talk about in camp are their thighs.

Fat thighs is one of the major problem that people have regarding their physiques especially women.
Naturally, our body tends to store body fat in these few favorite areas, like the triceps, butt, back and of course, the thighs. Here are some tips that you can follow to reduce those troubled thighs and tone them up so that is beachwear ready by vacation time or by the summer.

How to get in bikini shape.

Does the thought of a bikini or something else itsy bitsy stress you out this summer? Have  no fear boot camp is here

Getting bare after months of elastic-waisted sweats, comfort foods and nightly dates with the couch can be harrowing.
Most women slip into misery when slipping into a swimsuit.
According to one survey, 68% of women dread shopping for bathing suits and would rather vacuum, do laundry and clean toilets than try on swimsuits.

Three-way mirrors and fluorescent lights are punishing, but so too is public exposure when parading around in small pieces of spandex — the mere thought brings us to our (dimpled) knees.

Swimsuit dread stalks us all, says Allan Fine. "Body issues attack everyone. The second you walk into the swimsuit department you break out into a sweat."

Some stay the painful course of finding the perfect suit to cinch, flatten or camouflage while others flee, crushed and empty-handed.

"Weight isn't the only thing women are unhappy with; it can be saggy breasts, cellulite, ribs showing, stocky thighs — there's always something you hate," says Fine creator of Fitness Boot camps Canada and a 20 year veteran of the fitness industry who specializes in body image and eating disorders.

No matter how smart we are, we're all stupid over our body's perceived flaws. "Society has a low tolerance for different body types and shapes, so because of that we're less tolerant of our own bodies."

Unrealistic beauty standards nag us and fuel self-loathing. Stats report an epidemic of body hatred — 90% of women are unhappy with their bodies.

Fine suggests that before leaving the house, try on last year's swimsuit so you know what to expect and to minimize shock. "Women have unrealistic fantasies that somehow they'll go out, buy a swimsuit and miraculously look good, and when they don't, they leave the store feeling depressed, awful and disgusted with themselves," says Fine.

Don't panic. Be proactive. You can always shop online for swimsuits and forget dieting. "Get to a healthy weight you can live with" through positive and healthy lifestyle changes and maintenance, says Fine Director of Fitness Boot Camps Canada.

Throw off the shackles of body bashing. "Love yourself enough to invest in yourself and your health.

HOW TO TIP THE SCALES BACK

- Cut out carbohydrates at night. These cause major fat storage to occur and send your blood-sugar levels haywire when you eat them too late at night.

- Eat frequent, small meals throughout the day – don't overeat at one time.

- Weightlifting boosts metabolic rate and turns your body into a fat-burning machine.

- Drink at least 2-3 litres of water daily. Water helps get rid of toxins in the body and transport nutrients.
- Do cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach – like a 30 to 45-minute walk. Research suggests that cardiovascular work on an empty stomach can help burn up to three times more fat.

- Lose the booze.Alcohol causes more fat storage and lowers fat metabolism

LOSE THE WINTER WEIGHT

If unhealthy pounds have accumulated over the winter, then start pulling your weight. Forget seeking perfection, it's all about maintaining a healthy body weight.

"I recommend making eating right and working out apart of your lifestyle year round, and not just something you do to look good in time for summer," says personal trainer Allan Fine, who's getting lots of SOS swimsuit stress calls now that the nice weather has arrived.

"The problem is most people start with unrealistic expectations and quickly lose motivation."

Forget being perfect. "Start with a goal in mind and try to get a bit better each week.Small improvements made consistently lead to big changes over time."

Synergize proper nutrition, moderate aerobic exercise and resistance training, says Kelly."The whole idea is just to raise your metabolism so you can burn more calories, lose fat and better maintain your results."

Recent studies tout interval training over regular cardio for burning fat, says Fine of www.fbcc.ca "And resistance training is essential to maintaining your lean muscle as you lose weight. Lean muscle actually helps burn more calories."

Incorporate a "cheat meal" ( not a cheat day as this can blow a whole weeks work) once a week to reward your efforts and prevent you from feeling deprived. "Even apoor plan is better than no plan, and as long as you're consistently making efforts and reviewing your progress, you will be successful."

Ready to get Motivated?

Can you remember a time in your life when you were really motivated? Maybe you were saving for a vacation, or you dad to save for your first car. A good dose of motivation can change your life almost overnight.

The best part of doing Boot Camp is seeing clients achieve amazing results. Whether they drop a few sizes, lose the baby weight, get off their blood pressure meds, or shrink their waist the excitement is always contagious. Most of all I designed FBCC as a lifestyle change program ,not just a ordinary Boot camp. (more…)

Are you wired to succeed or fail?

February is the month that most people revert to their pre-New-Year's-Resolution habits. Have you given up on your fitness goals yet?

"If you are looking for an excuse to fall off the wagon, the universe will provide one."

That was the lesson that Oprah shared in her recent confession about her ongoing struggle with weight. Oprah knows how it feels to fall off the fitness wagon; in the January issue of The Oprah Magazine she described her recent 40 pound weight gain.

Her testimony was filled with valuable insights for anyone else prone to relapse. There was a hidden cycle that I found in her story – one that exposes the process of falling off the wagon.

1) You Fall
Your fall off the wagon could take place in a single moment, or it could be the result of a drawn out process. Oprah described her fall as one that happened slowly as a result of health problems. These health problems became her reason for not exercising.

Illness, vacation, holidays, changes at work or any other change in your schedule are all things that'll get you off the wagon. Once you're off the real damage begins.

2) You Surrender
There comes a point after you fall off the wagon that you simply throw your hands up in the air and give in. For Oprah this was a dramatic moment. "I started eating whatever I wanted – and that's never good. My drug of choice is food. I use food for the same reasons an addict uses drugs: to comfort, to soothe, to ease stress."

This is the most destructive part of the cycle. You remove all expectations from yourself and as a result you plummet into an unhealthy realm. The progress that you've made toward your goals is lost and even more weight is gained.

3) You Hit Bottom
Inevitably there comes the moment when you hit bottom. Your body shows the new weight gain and you feel awful about it. For Oprah it was a sobering moment. "I felt completely defeated. I thought, I give up. I give up. Fat wins." She went so far as to say, "I felt like a fat cow. I wanted to disappear."

While hitting bottom is never a fun experience, it is a necessary one. The pain must become great enough for you to turn it around and take the control back.

4) You Take Control
Now comes the good part. When you hit bottom you were out of control, now you're ready to once again grab the reigns. Oprah says that "These days I've put myself back on my own priority list."

She plans to get an hour of exercise five or six days a week, as well as eating healthfully and reordering her life to include time to replenish her energy. Her new goal is to be strong and healthy and fit.

Have you fallen off your priority list, like Oprah fell off hers?

The time has come to put yourself back on that priority list. The time has come to decide that you are worth it.

I'm here to help you do just that. Call or email today to get started on an exercise program that will change your body and your life…just like Oprah.

Is Your Heart Healthy….Get a Jump Start to Heart Health MonthBy Tara Deda | January 26, 2009

February is Heart Health month….Is your Heart Healthy? Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading heath problems in Canada.  There are many things that you can do on a daily basis such as group exercise (like a boot camp) to help protect or reverse the signs of cardiovascular disease.

These health steps were found at “The Human Heart” http://www.fi.edu/learn/heart/index.html

    • Take the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator at school or the mall. Just start with one flight. Soon, you’ll be ready for two.
    • Park your car at the far end of the parking lot. The short walk to and from the store or school helps your heart.
    • If you ride a bus or subway, get off a stop before your destination. Walk the rest of the way.
    • If you can, spend a few minutes of your lunch break taking a stroll. It should help you stay awake after lunch.
    • Think of housework as an extra chance to exercise. Vacuuming briskly can be a real workout.
    • Mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, and raking leaves are chores that can be done yourself as a chance to exercise.
    • If you have a dog, think of the dog as an exercise machine with fur. A brisk walk with the dog is good for both of your hearts. Make it a part of your daily routine.
    • If you have a family, schedule an after-dinner walk. Make it quality time
  • Source: http://www.fi.edu/learn/heart/healthy/tips.html

If you are looking to make your heart healthy and strong, February is the perfect month to start! Why not get a jump start and do these steps along with joining a group fitness program with others who are looking for the same results!
